Welcome to the Scavenger Hunt Club! The club is a part of Adrienne's Hogwarts and is run by Telyn Timber. This is the main page of the club where you'll find the Challenges, members, standings, and archives.

Welcome to everyone who likes detective stories, is obsessive about finding the exact quote and page number, collects trivia, rummages for riddles, analyzes anagrams or just likes being the first to find something cool. Sit back, take out a magnifying glass, a pipe if you desire (bubble only please), and have fun.

The Challenges:
Each challenge is composed of 5 questions. On any given week there are two Challenges running. This is how it's set up: Challenge A goes up Weeks 1+2 and is worth twice the number of points listed aka Double Points (DP). Weeks 3+4 come along, and Challenge A is now worth normal points. Challenge B goes up at the same time and is worth double points. So any given Challenge is up for a month. This will change to a weekly system if there are more responses to Challenges. To start off with, the questions will be related to the books only. Once we get running more there may be other sources as well.

There is no time for another Challenge with AH closing and prizes etc will be worked out. Notes Okay, I'm sorry about not updating in quite some time. I've been moving into college, and this was my first week of school. Not that anyone responded to Challenge 11 anyway. So I'll give y'all till the 11th to get those answers in.

The due date for Challenges 11 (DP) and 10 (reg) has been extended to Saturday August 21. Reasons for this change include the lack of responses )aka none) and getting ready for school. So send in answers to the above Challenges here .

Hi everyone! Challenge 11 (DP) is now posted along with Challenge 10 with Clues. So go participate. Sad to say the Guestmap turned out to be a dud, I got what I paid for I guess. In other words nothing for nothing. So forget that it ever existed.
The Tellin' Telyn Poll has been updated. The previous poll asked what you else you wanted to use as questions. With a three-way tie of five votes were: HP Movies, Riddles, and Finding Pictures at AH. I'm sorry to say that the last one should have been deleted before the poll went up. It was something we were playing with early on but is not feasible. But I am happy to accommodate you with the Movie questions and Riddles. So go vote in the new Poll as far as which movies you have seen. Challenge 11 uses a Riddle as a Bonus.

2. What spell did Harry use to split Cedric's bag? (2)

3. When does Harry figure out that it was the Avada Kedavra curse that killed his parents and learns he is the only person to (fully) survive it? (2)

4. When is Sirius Black first mentioned in the series? (2)

5. In 1981, Sirius Black was arrested after 'he' (read Wormtail) killed a number of people with a single curse. How many people were killed by this curse? (2)

*Bonus Riddle* What occurs once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in an hour? (5)

1. At Harry's first end-of-year feast, how many points was Ron awarded for "the best played game of chess Hogwarts has seen in many years?" (1) He earns the same amount as Hermione does

2. What is the name of the witch who gets off the Knight Bus at Abergavenny? (2) Begins with an 'M'

3. Who lay awake in the Gryffindor Boys 4th Year Dormitory on the night of the first DADA class with 'Moody'? (2) Two of Snape's favorite students

4. Name three listings in Basic Hexes for the Busy and Vexed that Harry found while looking for a way to defeat the dragon. (2)Found in the Library

5. How many keyholes does Moody's trunk have? (1)In typical Moody fashion, it's a prime number

6. In the first book, Professor McGonagall takes Gryffindor Quidditch Captain Oliver Wood out of Flitwick's class to set up Harry's appointment as Seeker. This is not so in the first movie. Whose class does McGonagall take Wood out of, and what animal is the interrupted professor holding? (2)The animal is known by some as Herman

In OotP when Harry and co. go to the Ministry of Magic they have to dial 62442 to get in. Well if you look at your phone, that spells M-A-G-I-C. Just thought it was an interesting tidbit. -Thanks Piper!
